Overview:

As an Assistant Controller, you will play a vital role in supporting the financial operations of our organization. Reporting directly to the Controller, you will assist in managing accounting functions, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. Your meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical and technical skills will contribute to the success of our finance team.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

• Coordinate with accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of financial reports.

• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making purposes.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Support the budgeting and forecasting process by gathering relevant financial information and assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts.

• Monitor budget variances and provide explanations for discrepancies.

• Work closely with department heads to understand spending patterns and forecast future financial needs.

3. Accounting Operations:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, member billing, and payroll activities.

• Review financial transactions for accuracy and completeness.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and external regulations.

4. Financial Analysis:

• Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.

• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and presentations for senior management as needed.

• Assist in financial modeling and scenario analysis to support strategic decision-making.

5. Internal Controls and Compliance:

• Assist in developing and implementing internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Participate in internal and external audits, providing documentation and explanations as necessary.

• Stay informed about changes in accounting standards and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.


Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;

• Proven experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 5 years in a similar capacity.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

• Proficiency in accounting software, NorthStar, MS Excel.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

• Detail-oriented with a high degree of accuracy in work.
